Japan stocks higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 0.53%

Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate , Banking and Textile sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (TYO: 5801 ), which rose 6.49% or 467.00 points to trade at 7,660.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fujikura Ltd. (TYO: 5803 ) added 3.95% or 298.00 points to end at 7,850.00 and Ebara Corp. (TYO: 6361 ) was up 3.85% or 106.50 points to 2,869.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dentsu Inc. (TYO: 4324 ), which fell 3.56% or 104.50 points to trade at 2,835.00 at the close. Renesas Electronics Corp (TYO: 6723 ) declined 2.93% or 56.50 points to end at 1,874.50 and Daikin Industries, Ltd. (TYO: 6367 ) was down 2.60% or 490.00 points to 18,390.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2248 to 1344 and 255 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ebara Corp. (TYO: 6361 ) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.85% or 106.50 to 2,869.50.

The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 4.72% to 23.96.

Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.76% or 0.51 to $66.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.66% or 0.46 to hit $68.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 8.32 to trade at $3,367.42 a troy ounce.

USD/JPY was down 0.01% to 147.70, while EUR/JPY rose 0.09% to 172.47.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 97.72.
