Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ), which rose 3.97% or 1.65 points to trade at 43.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) added 3.16% or 0.26 points to end at 8.50 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) was up 2.47% or 0.33 points to 13.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ), which fell 7.81% or 12.36 points to trade at 146.00 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV: BBAJIOO ) declined 5.61% or 2.54 points to end at 42.72 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV: KOFUBL ) was down 4.95% or 8.70 points to 167.11.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 124 to 114 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) rose to all time highs; rising 3.97% or 1.65 to 43.25.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.17% or 5.60 to $3,322.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $70.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 18.63, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 21.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.16.
