Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity , Auto and Cement sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW: 3025 ), which rose 9.97% or 4.85 points to trade at 53.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Run Long Construction Co Ltd (TW: 1808 ) added 9.95% or 3.00 points to end at 33.15 and ALi Corp (TW: 3041 ) was up 9.94% or 2.55 points to 28.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lung Ming Green Energy Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW: 3018 ), which fell 10.00% or 1.80 points to trade at 16.20 at the close. Jih Lin Technology Co Ltd (TW: 5285 ) declined 4.89% or 2.35 points to end at 45.70 and Taiwan Cogeneration Corp (TW: 8926 ) was down 4.82% or 2.15 points to 42.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Lung Ming Green Energy Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW: 3018 ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 10.00% or 1.80 to 16.20.

Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.71% or 0.48 to $66.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.72% or 0.50 to hit $68.61 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 14.85 to trade at $3,374.55 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.29% to 28.89, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.36% to 0.25.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 96.44.
