Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Chemicals and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.46%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.01%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR: BMWG ), which rose 5.02% or 3.78 points to trade at 79.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR: DTGGe ) added 3.74% or 1.47 points to end at 40.80 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR: CBKG ) was up 3.03% or 0.81 points to 27.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR: VNAn ), which fell 2.84% or 0.86 points to trade at 29.37 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG ) declined 2.41% or 0.70 points to end at 28.38 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR: DB1Gn ) was down 2.15% or 5.90 points to 268.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR: TKAG ) which rose 8.85% to 9.28, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR: WCHG ) which was up 6.61% to settle at 66.10 and HelloFresh SE (ETR: HFGG ) which gained 6.53% to close at 8.81.
The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR: RDC ) which was down 4.15% to 90.00 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR: TEGG ) which lost 3.82% to settle at 14.62 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR: LEGn ) which was down 3.66% to 73.65 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Formycon AG (ETR: FYB ) which rose 7.44% to 29.60, Siltronic AG (ETR: WAFGn ) which was up 5.55% to settle at 42.24 and Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which gained 3.51% to close at 16.22.
The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR: AOFG ) which was down 3.11% to 137.20 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which lost 3.06% to settle at 43.68 and IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) which was down 1.70% to 37.55 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 362 to 241 and 32 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.59% to 18.40.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 4.90 to $3,354.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.62% or 1.06 to hit $66.51 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 1.11 to trade at $68.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP rose 0.77% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.55.
