Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining , Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 1.95%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were NOVATEK PJSC (MCX: NVTK ), which rose 7.00% or 72.80 points to trade at 1,113.40 at the close. Meanwhile, MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX: GMKN ) added 5.78% or 5.90 points to end at 107.20 and PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) was up 5.70% or 29.10 points to 539.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ), which fell 1.22% or 0.08 points to trade at 6.42 at the close. GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 1,083.80 and Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX: SNGS_p ) was up 0.49% or 0.25 points to 50.49.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 204 to 33 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.43% to 39.36.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.48% or 16.10 to $3,312.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.63% or 0.99 to hit $61.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.74 to trade at $64.31 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 79.88, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 99.82.
