Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Transport and Plastic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ITEQ Corp (TW: 6213 ), which rose 9.98% or 8.10 points to trade at 89.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW: 9902 ) added 9.97% or 1.95 points to end at 21.50 and Shinkong Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1419 ) was up 9.96% or 7.40 points to 81.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW: 1235 ), which fell 9.96% or 9.50 points to trade at 85.90 at the close. Wan Hai Lines Ltd (TW: 2615 ) declined 7.51% or 9.50 points to end at 117.00 and Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW: 1515 ) was down 6.46% or 2.15 points to 31.15.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Shinkong Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1419 ) rose to all time highs; up 9.96% or 7.40 to 81.70.

Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.31% or 0.19 to $61.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.28% or 0.18 to hit $63.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 2.09 to trade at $3,330.39 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.34% to 29.89, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.54% to 0.24.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 99.64.
