Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.23%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.23% to hit a new 52-week high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ), which rose 4.99% or 1.06 points to trade at 22.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV: Q ) added 4.58% or 9.61 points to end at 219.27 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALFAA ) was up 3.12% or 0.45 points to 14.87 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV: GAPB ), which fell 6.12% or 28.11 points to trade at 431.01 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) declined 4.83% or 19.67 points to end at 387.22 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was down 3.16% or 0.78 points to 23.90.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 165 to 76 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.98% or 67.20 to $3,327.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.73% or 0.45 to hit $61.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.41 to trade at $63.71 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 19.27, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.82.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 99.51.
