Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Mining and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index gained 1.50%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ), which rose 5.68% or 0.41 points to trade at 7.72 at the close. Meanwhile, AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX: AFKS ) added 1.58% or 0.24 points to end at 15.16 and Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX: TRNF_p ) was up 1.04% or 13.00 points to 1,221.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC (MCX: HYDR ), which unchanged 0.75% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.46 at the close. PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ) declined 0.70% or 46.00 points to end at 6,571.00 and MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX: GMKN ) was down 0.61% or 0.70 points to 109.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 137 to 108 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 3.02% to 47.12.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.40% or 44.70 to $3,232.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.31% or 0.19 to hit $62.16 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $65.49 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 80.75, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 100.22.
