Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.87% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ), which rose 6.07% or 2.45 points to trade at 42.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) added 4.37% or 1.66 points to end at 39.68 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV: GFINBURO ) was up 3.09% or 1.56 points to 52.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ), which fell 5.01% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.16 at the close. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ) declined 1.24% or 0.17 points to end at 13.54 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was down 1.04% or 0.26 points to 24.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 120 to 98 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.37% or 1.66 to 39.68.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.40% or 44.70 to $3,232.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.31% or 0.19 to hit $62.16 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $65.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 19.32, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 21.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 100.22.
