Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy , Media and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.74% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA: PGE ), which rose 6.89% or 0.61 points to trade at 9.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) added 6.35% or 0.42 points to end at 7.10 and Rainbow Tours SA (WA: RBW ) was up 5.20% or 8.30 points to 167.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA: ATTP ), which fell 2.94% or 0.74 points to trade at 24.40 at the close. Zabka Group SA (WA: ZAB ) declined 2.05% or 0.48 points to end at 22.90 and CD PROJEKT SA (WA: CDR ) was down 1.71% or 4.20 points to 240.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 267 to 260 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA: PGE ) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.89% or 0.61 to 9.49. Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA: TPE ) rose to all time highs; up 6.35% or 0.42 to 7.10. Shares in Rainbow Tours SA (WA: RBW ) rose to all time highs; rising 5.20% or 8.30 to 167.90.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.28% or 1.41 to $63.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.99% or 1.29 to hit $66.25 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.81% or 26.21 to trade at $3,254.21 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.23, while USD/PLN fell 0.89% to 3.79.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 100.97.
