Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology , Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.30% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ), which rose 4.44% or 0.42 points to trade at 9.76 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) added 2.87% or 0.65 points to end at 23.31 and Renault SA (EPA: RENA ) was up 2.53% or 1.21 points to 49.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA: OREP ), which fell 2.38% or 9.40 points to trade at 385.15 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA: EDEN ) declined 2.02% or 0.57 points to end at 27.66 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA: VIE ) was down 1.94% or 0.59 points to 29.77.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA: VIRI ) which rose 5.47% to 60.33, Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) which was up 5.34% to settle at 8.52 and Voltalia SA (EPA: VLTSA ) which gained 4.52% to close at 8.09.
The worst performers were Ayvens SA (EPA: AYV ) which was down 4.83% to 8.68 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which lost 4.35% to settle at 11.66 and Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which was down 3.53% to 3.93 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 287 to 208 and 71 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.02% or 32.84 to $3,260.84 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.97% or 1.84 to hit $63.79 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.65% or 1.72 to trade at $66.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.80% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 100.92.
