Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.58%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS: ASMI ), which rose 3.24% or 15.70 points to trade at 500.40 at the close. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) added 3.22% or 3.70 points to end at 118.70 and ASML Holding NV (AS: ASML ) was up 2.52% or 16.80 points to 683.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Unilever PLC (AS: ULVR ), which fell 1.74% or 0.96 points to trade at 54.30 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS: PHG ) declined 1.46% or 0.32 points to end at 21.65 and Heineken (AS: HEIN ) was down 1.01% or 0.80 points to 78.02.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 60 to 37 and 12 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.95% or 1.83 to $63.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.62% or 1.70 to hit $66.66 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.99% or 31.81 to trade at $3,259.81 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 100.94.
