Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities , Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.11% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ), which rose 7.49% or 0.65 points to trade at 9.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) added 3.90% or 0.16 points to end at 4.16 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI: CORA ) was up 2.99% or 0.24 points to 8.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ), which fell 1.11% or 0.24 points to trade at 21.46 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) unchanged 0.66% or 0.00 points to end at 0.60 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI: NVGR ) was up 0.17% or 0.01 points to 3.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.90% or 0.16 to 4.16.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.54% or 1.65 to $66.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.86% or 1.77 to hit $63.72 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 31.51 to trade at $3,259.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 100.94.
