Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.04% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (BVMF: BRKM5 ), which rose 6.05% or 0.62 points to trade at 10.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Prio SA (BVMF: PRIO3 ) added 5.15% or 1.89 points to end at 38.56 and Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ) was up 4.65% or 0.39 points to 8.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LWSA SA (BVMF: LWSA3 ), which fell 5.38% or 0.19 points to trade at 3.34 at the close. IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF: IRBR3 ) declined 4.51% or 2.15 points to end at 45.52 and Marcopolo SA (BVMF: POMO4 ) was down 3.52% or 0.24 points to 6.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 567 to 406 and 53 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.05% to 29.33.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.11% or 103.98 to $3,240.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.69% or 1.03 to hit $62.05 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 3.64% or 14.10 to trade at $373.65 .
USD/BRL was up 0.46% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL fell 0.95% to 6.30.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.43% at 101.60.
