Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ), which rose 3.94% or 0.31 points to trade at 8.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) added 3.45% or 0.43 points to end at 12.91 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: GMEXICOB ) was up 3.28% or 3.32 points to 104.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which fell 7.65% or 32.09 points to trade at 387.50 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV: GRUMAB ) declined 4.76% or 17.63 points to end at 353.00 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: GCARSOA1 ) was down 2.89% or 3.78 points to 127.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 185 to 67 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.06% or 102.25 to $3,241.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.57% or 0.96 to hit $61.98 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 1.13 to trade at $65.04 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.00% to 19.63, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 21.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.46% at 101.63.
