Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 3.25%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ), which rose 2.51% or 42.80 points to trade at 1,744.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ) added 1.22% or 0.82 points to end at 68.04 and Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX: MOEX ) was up 0.76% or 1.47 points to 194.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ), which fell 3.71% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.19 at the close. Gazprom PJSC (MCX: GAZP ) declined 2.92% or 4.05 points to end at 134.84 and NOVATEK PJSC (MCX: NVTK ) was down 2.86% or 31.80 points to 1,079.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 187 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 0.98% to 48.67.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.09% or 100.30 to $3,343.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.85% or 1.08 to hit $57.21 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.91 to trade at $60.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 80.50, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 91.08.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 99.60.
