Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance , Transportation & Logistics and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.08% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.89%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR: RHMG ), which rose 3.24% or 51.00 points to trade at 1,627.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR: CBKG ) added 2.92% or 0.69 points to end at 24.28 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR: MUVGn ) was up 2.73% or 15.80 points to 595.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR: BASFN ), which fell 4.30% or 1.91 points to trade at 42.48 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR: DHLn ) declined 3.25% or 1.24 points to end at 36.94 and Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG ) was down 1.56% or 0.51 points to 32.21.

The top performers on the MDAX were RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) which rose 4.62% to 57.97, Puma SE (ETR: PUMG ) which was up 3.30% to settle at 23.81 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR: TLXGn ) which gained 3.12% to close at 105.70.

The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR: BOSSn ) which was down 2.33% to 36.42 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR: WCHG ) which lost 2.23% to settle at 65.90 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 1.81% to 7.48 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR: KTN ) which rose 2.80% to 22.04, IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) which was up 2.56% to settle at 32.00 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR: AFXG ) which gained 1.34% to close at 60.60.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR: NA9n ) which was down 3.18% to 62.50 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which lost 1.81% to settle at 7.48 and United Internet AG NA (ETR: UTDI ) which was down 1.33% to 20.72 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 371 to 262 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR: RHMG ) rose to all time highs; up 3.24% or 51.00 to 1,627.00. Shares in RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) rose to all time highs; up 4.62% or 2.56 to 57.97. Shares in Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR: TLXGn ) rose to all time highs; up 3.12% or 3.20 to 105.70. Shares in IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.56% or 0.80 to 32.00.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.74% to 21.82 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.28% or 73.80 to $3,317.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.16% or 1.26 to hit $57.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 1.16 to trade at $60.13 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 99.72.
