Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.65% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT: EKTr ), which rose 5.50% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT: BOPr ) added 4.89% or 0.24 points to end at 5.15 and Alpha Bank SA (AT: ACBr ) was up 4.79% or 0.10 points to 2.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Techn Olympic (AT: OLYr ), which fell 1.79% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.20 at the close. Titan Cement International SA (AT: TITCr ) declined 1.60% or 0.65 points to end at 40.10 and Alumil (AT: ALMr ) was down 1.57% or 0.08 points to 5.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 84 to 44 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.33% or 43.01 to $3,265.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.60% or 0.95 to hit $58.29 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 0.88 to trade at $61.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.66% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 99.31.
