Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 1.44%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials , Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.44% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ), which rose 10.43% or 7.35 points to trade at 77.85 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) added 5.00% or 8.05 points to end at 169.20 and Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) was up 4.37% or 2.30 points to 54.95 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR: AOO ), which fell 2.90% or 2.05 points to trade at 68.60 at the close. Elia (EBR: ELI ) declined 2.51% or 2.40 points to end at 93.20 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR: GBLB ) was down 1.52% or 1.10 points to 71.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 21 and 12 ended unchanged.

Shares in Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.43% or 7.35 to 77.85.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.54% or 17.44 to $3,239.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.27% or 0.75 to hit $58.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.64 to trade at $61.49 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 99.65.
