Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare , Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ), which rose 5.46% or 3.65 points to trade at 70.50 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) added 3.37% or 5.25 points to end at 161.15 and Lotus Bakeries (EBR: LOTB ) was up 3.17% or 260.00 points to 8,460.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ), which fell 3.84% or 2.10 points to trade at 52.65 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR: KBC ) declined 3.39% or 2.84 points to end at 81.06 and Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) was down 3.15% or 0.26 points to 8.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 36 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.40% or 13.35 to $3,320.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.96% or 1.79 to hit $58.63 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.92% or 1.85 to trade at $61.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 99.26.
