Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 2.40%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ELEKTRA ), which rose 0.60% or 2.05 points to trade at 344.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ) fell 0.07% or 0.03 points to end at 40.00 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ) was down 0.13% or 0.06 points to 47.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ), which fell 9.75% or 0.77 points to trade at 7.13 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: GCARSOA1 ) declined 8.45% or 12.51 points to end at 135.62 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) was down 7.48% or 30.32 points to 375.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 111 to 100 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) fell to all time lows; falling 9.75% or 0.77 to 7.13.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.60% or 20.05 to $3,327.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.03% or 1.88 to hit $60.17 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.79% or 1.81 to trade at $62.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.09% to 19.57, while EUR/MXN rose 0.14% to 22.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 99.00.
