Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Chemical/Bio & Medical care and Electrical/Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 4.20% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lan Fa Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1459 ), which rose 10.00% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) added 9.97% or 6.20 points to end at 68.40 and Sunty Development Co Ltd (TW: 3266 ) was up 7.02% or 1.20 points to 18.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were I-Chiun Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW: 2486 ), which fell 10.00% or 9.90 points to trade at 89.10 at the close. ADLINK Technology Inc (TW: 6166 ) declined 10.00% or 9.00 points to end at 81.00 and Hold-Key Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd (TW: 1618 ) was down 9.99% or 4.70 points to 42.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.08% or 0.06 to $71.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.12% or 0.09 to hit $74.40 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 1.09 to trade at $3,147.09 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.20% to 33.20, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.35% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 103.96.
