Spain stocks lower at close of trade; IBEX 35 down 0.03%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate , Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME: ROVI ), which rose 2.16% or 1.10 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Endesa SA (BME: ELE ) added 2.07% or 0.49 points to end at 24.11 and Iberdrola (BME: IBE ) was up 1.62% or 0.24 points to 14.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (BME: MTS ), which fell 4.32% or 1.25 points to trade at 27.68 at the close. Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ) declined 3.07% or 0.27 points to end at 8.65 and Acerinox (BME: ACX ) was down 2.19% or 0.25 points to 11.16.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 104 to 88 and 22 ended unchanged.

Shares in Endesa SA (BME: ELE ) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.07% or 0.49 to 24.11. Shares in Iberdrola (BME: IBE ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.62% or 0.24 to 14.70.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.34% or 40.85 to $3,093.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $69.71 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $73.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.46% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 103.90.
