Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.03%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Titan Cement International SA (AT: TITCr ), which rose 3.55% or 1.50 points to trade at 43.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Alumil (AT: ALMr ) added 3.25% or 0.16 points to end at 5.09 and Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT: PSALr ) was up 2.71% or 0.07 points to 2.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Intralot (AT: INLr ), which fell 2.19% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.07 at the close. National Bank of Greece SA (AT: NBGr ) declined 2.05% or 0.21 points to end at 10.04 and Avax SA (AT: AVAr ) was down 2.02% or 0.05 points to 2.18.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 47 and 24 ended unchanged.

Shares in Alumil (AT: ALMr ) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.25% or 0.16 to 5.09.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.44% or 44.01 to $3,096.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $69.71 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $73.04 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 103.87.
