Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services , Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA: PERP ), which rose 2.43% or 2.45 points to trade at 103.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA: SGOB ) added 1.92% or 1.82 points to end at 96.72 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA: MICP ) was up 1.30% or 0.44 points to 34.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ), which fell 7.53% or 7.54 points to trade at 92.66 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA: PUBP ) declined 1.87% or 1.82 points to end at 95.50 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) was down 1.80% or 0.44 points to 23.73.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA: VIRI ) which rose 20.97% to 67.33, Voltalia SA (EPA: VLTSA ) which was up 3.64% to settle at 8.26 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA: S30 ) which gained 3.31% to close at 1.37.
The worst performers were Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) which was down 22.62% to 8.44 in late trade, Nexity (EPA: NEXI ) which lost 20.09% to settle at 10.62 and Valeo SA (EPA: VLOF ) which was down 11.21% to 10.02 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 174 and 109 ended unchanged.
Shares in Viridien SA (EPA: VIRI ) rose to 52-week highs; up 20.97% or 11.67 to 67.33.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.23% or 35.49 to $2,860.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.91% or 0.64 to hit $69.71 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.83 to trade at $72.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 107.24.
