Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction , Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.25%, while the MDAX index declined 0.95%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR: MTXGn ), which rose 3.21% or 10.40 points to trade at 334.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR: FMEG ) added 1.84% or 0.84 points to end at 46.40 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR: DTGGe ) was up 1.52% or 0.63 points to 42.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR: IFXGn ), which fell 1.68% or 0.61 points to trade at 35.51 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG ) declined 1.53% or 0.54 points to end at 34.75 and Qiagen NV (ETR: QIA ) was down 1.17% or 0.44 points to 36.83.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which rose 5.14% to 12.16, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which was up 1.71% to settle at 13.05 and Scout24 AG (ETR: G24n ) which gained 1.40% to close at 94.35.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (ETR: HYQGn ) which was down 5.57% to 198.50 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR: KGX ) which lost 4.61% to settle at 38.69 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 3.93% to 8.19 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which rose 5.14% to 12.16, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which was up 1.71% to settle at 13.05 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR: DTEGn ) which gained 0.96% to close at 34.75.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 3.93% to 8.19 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR: NEKG ) which lost 2.52% to settle at 112.00 and TeamViewer AG (ETR: TMV ) which was down 2.26% to 11.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 408 to 213 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Qiagen NV (ETR: QIA ) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.17% or 0.44 to 36.83.
The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.89% to 17.19.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.24% or 35.81 to $2,860.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.94% or 0.66 to hit $69.69 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.85 to trade at $72.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 107.21.
