Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 1.12%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining , Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 1.12%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX: ALRS ), which rose 5.09% or 2.99 points to trade at 61.73 at the close. Meanwhile, MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX: GMKN ) added 4.39% or 5.90 points to end at 140.20 and Unipro PJSC (MCX: UPRO ) was up 4.11% or 0.10 points to 2.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Magnit PJSC (MCX: MGNT ), which fell 0.98% or 49.00 points to trade at 4,956.00 at the close. Severstal PJSC (MCX: CHMF ) declined 0.27% or 3.60 points to end at 1,347.40 and ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX: OZONDR ) was down 0.19% or 7.50 points to 3,955.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 128 to 116 and 10 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 3.26% to 45.93.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.98% or 28.36 to $2,867.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.41% or 0.29 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.45 to trade at $73.12 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 1.92% to 89.38, while EUR/RUB rose 1.71% to 92.73.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 107.50.
