Retail behemoth Walmart (NYSE:WMT) met Wall Street’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, with sales up 4.1% year on year to $180.6 billion. The company expects next quarter’s revenue to be around $167.2 billion, close to analysts’ estimates. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.66 per share was 2.2% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Walmart reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter results Thursday, but its guidance came in short of estimates, sending shares sharply lower.
Swimming pool distributor Pool (NASDAQ:POOL) reported revenue ahead of Wall Street’s expectations in Q4 CY2024, but sales fell by 1.6% year on year to $987.5 million. Its GAAP profit of $0.98 per share was 8.2% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Infrastructure solutions provider Quanta (NYSE:PWR) fell short of the market’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, but sales rose 13.3% year on year to $6.55 billion. Its non-GAAP profit of $2.94 per share was 12.1% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Pet food company Freshpet (NASDAQ:FRPT) fell short of the market’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, but sales rose 22% year on year to $262.7 million. The company’s full-year revenue guidance of $1.20 billion at the midpoint came in 1.7% below analysts’ estimates. Its GAAP profit of $0.36 per share was 5.3% below analysts’ consensus estimates.
Toy and entertainment company Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS) beat Wall Street’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, but sales fell by 14.5% year on year to $1.10 billion. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.46 per share was 39.3% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Hotel franchisor Choice Hotels (NYSE:CHH) beat Wall Street’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, with sales up 8.8% year on year to $389.8 million. Its non-GAAP profit of $1.55 per share was 4.5% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Automotive parts company LKQ (NASDAQ:LKQ) missed Wall Street’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, with sales falling 4.1% year on year to $3.36 billion. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.80 per share was 7.8% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
The S&P 500 notched another all-time high. But at the same time, the market mood isn't particularly great. For good reason.
